Horrendous
Oncology
September 16, 2015
Four and a half years ago my grandparent was diagnosed with liver cancer, was told she had max 12 months to live and never offered any treatment. Has now been told she never had the cancer and they do not know what is wrong. Absolutely disgusted with the lack of care she received and continues to receive.
I'm glad I need not visit again
Neurology
September 16, 2015
I have been suffering with headaches since November 2014 and after a routine eye test, I was referred to the hospital for further investigations. Initially I was sent for an MRI scan to rule out tumours etc but it took nearly six weeks to tell me that I didn't have a tumour. Each time I have visited the hospital I leave in tears as I never get any answers. I was told they wanted me to have a lumbar puncture to confirm that I had intracranial hypertension but then openly admitted at my next appointment that they had forgotten to book it. The hospital also wouldn't send confirmation to my GP of the meds I had been given so if I ran out I would have to wait until I saw them again to get the medications.
Polite and sensitive doctor and nurse in A&E
Accident and emergency services
September 16, 2015
Seen by a young 'foundation' doctor in A&E who was extremely polite, helped with pain relief medication for my foot and very sensitively discussed an old brain related injury, the doctor and nurse were both excellent.
Very good service in all ways
Ophthalmology

As a regular visitor to the eye clinic, I'm pleased to share that I've always had a very good service, my most recent appointment was with a nurse specialist who was excellent.
Very good care

Thankful for the very good care by both nurses and doctors, for my elderly mother on Debenham ward.
Follow-up appointment cancelled
September 7, 2015
I was told I would receive a follow up appointment post endoscopy. I received a letter several months later offering an appointment only to receive another letter the following week cancelling this appointment. Another few months have past and I still have no follow up appointment.
Staff really helped
September 4, 2015
I attended the department and had multiple x-rays. Due to my restricted mobility I need help getting onto the bed which the staff really helped with. They were great. I didn't have to wait long for my appointment and everything took less than an hour to do.
Discrimination towards clients with Downs
September 4, 2015
Supported two gentlemen with Downs to outpatients. Both times the subject of their learning disability came up with regards to providing treatment with the implication being that there was no real point providing treatment as their life expectancy was historically short. Did insist on another appointment with one dept and saw consultant who agreed with me that an operation would be needed this year. The outcome of the other appointment with the other gentleman was to contact them if the problem become worse. Was saddened to see them being treated this way just because they have Downs, especially as in the 21st century they are now living longer, healthier and happy lives.
Excellent, in every way
Orthopaedics

I was very well looked after in every way. Nurses could not do enough for me. Operation was well explained. The surgeon came and saw me after the operation and told me what he did and I was very pleased. Food was very good and very well presented.
Very well looked after during my stay
Ear Nose and Throat

I found Ipswich Hospital looked after me very well indeed from my initial outpatient's appointments, a scan and operation. The consultant and his 'Team' gave me confidence for my operation. On Stowupland ward the staff were friendly, helpful and looked after me before and after my operation. Don't they all work hard! .
