Parking

The parking at Ipswich Hospital is a real problem. Not enough spaces. The cost too high.

Well looked after

June 18, 2015
Once in main ward it was very good. Enjoyed the food. Once entering A&E it was a very long wait to go to a ward. Also it was very upsetting to be moved in the middle of the night.

Disappointing, they didn't contact me

June 18, 2015
I was referred by my doctor to the dermatology deparment and was told I would hear from them within 2 weeks. Over a month later I haven't heard from the hospital so I called my GP who advised I call the hospital. I called this morning and I was told that they are very busy but that I wouldn't be given an appointment until September or October. I was originally told that it possibly could be cancer so to be told I have to wait until September is not good.

Food at Ipswich hospital Maternity

June 12, 2015
I cannot fault the lovely person that brought the food and drink around to us, but I have to say that the choice being the same everyday was not so great. It is obvious that this food is reheated at the hospital and not made fresh on the premises, yet the restaurant had soup if I went down to it, though I could not have this on the ward or even a simple sandwich. Vegetables particularly were badly overcooked, as they sit around in the heater for so long I know it is hard for this not to happen. I urge the hospital to go back to cooking fresh food on site.

In for a week having a baby

June 12, 2015
This follows on from my previous feedback. After being in hospital and sent home on the third day I was then induced on the fourth day. By the evening a very vigilant senior mid-wife insisted that they broke my waters as things had 'gone on long enough' and the babies heart rate was not settling. I am so glad she insisted on this as things got rolling.

Eventually after a long night I was prepped for a potential C Section because the baby was back to back and could not get out. The staff in the theatre were amazing and they had the baby out very quickly thankfully by just turning him with forceps. Our two midwives were lovely and I was then transferred to Orwell ward.

It was impressive to have so many services come and see us in one go. I think some may find this rather full on, but I thought it was good to get them all through in one go then we had a good chance of going home sooner!

A week in Ipswich hospital having a baby

June 12, 2015
I was consultant led and on a trial which meant I would be induced on my due date if I did not have the baby beforehand. I did not and so on Jan 19th 2015 I went into Deben ward. The two midwives assigned to us that morning were just lovely. Unfortunately my induction did not work on day one or day two and I was sent home on day three. I was very well looked after but I was miffed as my consultant had said that after two days I would have a 'C section' if the baby did not come after 2 days of inductions.

Good hearing clinic

June 12, 2015
The clinic at the hospital is very good. I visit yearly for a check up and they always explain everything and let me know what to do to get problems sorted.
