Can't fault the Head + Neck depart

June 12, 2015
I was operated on in this department years ago but still have regular check ups. The consultant has been treated any better. There was great camaraderie with those treated and I've recently been invited back to meet with the new speech therapist.

A+E were very good, ward-nurses were good

Operation to repair ankle prepped 3 times and cancelled. Also ward opened extraroom to accomodate influx over easter which proved to be stressful for staff and had a knock on effect for quality of care.

Long wait at A&E

May 29, 2015
We went to A&E as my husband had pains in his wrist. We had to wait for 7 1/2 hours to be seen and there didn't seem to be enough staff available. If they'd explained why there was such a long wait it would have been better. The staff who dealt with us were good but the wait was very long.

Great treatment at A & E

May 29, 2015
We went up to A&E with an infection at 2.30am. Although the signs were saying the waiting times were about 4 hours my partner was seen within an hour which was alot quicker than I expected. We were seen by staff and had to wait for results but the care provided and explanations given were good. We were home by 7.30am and picked up the prescription as soon as the pharmacy opened.

Length of referral waiting time.

I need a hip replacement and my mobility is getting worse but because I have eczema on my leg they won't operate. I've always had eczema and have now been referred to see a consultant dermatologist at the hospital but the waiting time is 14 weeks. I won't get my hip done for sometime!

I regularly attend the macular department and find that they are excellent. They are very good at explaining things and very pleasant across all staff at the clinic.

I was treated for a minor injury.

May 19, 2015
Although the injury was minor, I needed an x ray so was advised to go to A&E. I was treated with kindness and respect. The treatment and aftercare were thorough. A busy department with time for all.
