I've had a number of visits to the endoscopy department at Ipswich Hospital. Although not a pleasant experience at times, the staff are great and I cannot fault them.

I was an "In Patient" at Ipswich Hospital last year. I only saw a doctor on admission and on discharge - I was told policy for all people of my age was for one week only. The doctors only seemed to diagnose me on my blood tests which were taken daily. Drugs were altered on a regular basis because of these tests. But no one explained what was happening next.

I had a cataract operation recently and was offered an earlier date to have it done at the Nuffield Hospital rather than Ipswich Hospital. I had a local anaesthetic for the operation and staff explained everything to me it all went very well and there has been a huge improvement in my sight.
Mixed expereince of being on the ward

I was admitted to hospital with a water infection and stayed for about 6 days. I did find that the staff could be a little friendlier. The medication that I was taking to help me sleep was regularly not given until midnight and I kept asking for them earlier.

Excellent treatment while waiting for a diagnosis for illness, consultant very thorough.

Arrived at Heath Road at 11.30 pm diagnosed with pneumonia and then heart attack, was on 4 wards with different nursing care excellent. What a shame that the food was very poor.

My wife was admitted to Ipswich Hospital via A & E in October, She was fully assessed by staff and then admitted to the ward. She then had further complications and was rushed back to A & E for further complications at 5:30 later on she was moved back to the ward but unfortunately passed away. The treatment by staff throughout her stay was good. They explained everything and kept family informed.
Difficult to get an appointment

Following a cataract operation I was told I would receive an appointment in 6 weeks time after 5 weeks I called and was told they would send one out another week went by with no appointment so I called again only to be given an appointment over the phone for two weeks time. When you see the consultant everything is great and the care you receive is wonderful.
Grateful for care provided by the clinic

I'm very happy with the eye clinic and grateful for the care they provide. At times it would be nice to have a little more information to help explain my condition - Macular degeneration.
They didn't listen to me

The consultant prior to my operation did not listen to me. I was in a very bad condition but they gave me an operation in March 2014. My operation was finally in February 2015.
