Poor communication

Maternity
January 28, 2020
While in the hospital with my prem baby was told by specialist that I would be able to go home after 24 hours, was then told later that day I would have to have a 3 day stay. The specialists were confused to why we had to stay as me and my baby was well. While in the ward I was threatened with social services if I decided to discharge me and my baby. Some staff members were rude towards me when asking questions about the care of my baby.

I had a Cataract removed on 9 January and could not have had better service and treatment if I had been in a fancy private hospital. Every member of staff was superb, everything simply explained, and, to cap it all - I could see perfectly within 12 hours.

Very efficient

General Surgery

Looked after me very well and were able to leave with no cover on my eye after the cataract surgery. Gave me good information and I found the whole experience very efficient. I feel great and will be having the other one done in the future which I feel happy about as they did such a good job.

I have been under this department for some time now and they communicate well with me and my GP practice. Feel very well looked after and confident in them.

We have had to have used a number of services of late here and this department looked after me very well. Assisting me as I am not very mobile. Treated me with dignity and re-assured me.

A very good experience in comparison to my time here two and a half years ago. Communicated better with me. No overnight stay offered or mentioned.

Been coming for a number of years and everything has been consistently excellent. Generally run on time except if an emergency, which is understandable.

Poor communication

Stroke services
November 26, 2019
Dr (name removed) showed poor listening and attending skills and empathy and failed to be able to convey what sort of stroke my mother had. They were more concerned about prescribing my mother opiate based drugs when my mother has an intolerance to these. My Mother acquired an unstageable pressure sore probably due to being on a hard casualty bed for six hours after her stroke.
