Brilliant care

Cancer services
January 22, 2025
I've had a range of treatments at the hospital including treatment for cancer. The care and attention has been brilliant. I've known what is happening every step of the way and staff have been so friendly.

Good urology care

Urology

Very good care by urology team. I regularly visit as the community nurses can't cope with the catheter issues I experience.

Disappointing

January 22, 2025
I was referred to hospital but the consultant wouldn't operate. I was on a drip that was attached to the wall so when I needed the toilet I couldn't easily go. The commodes were not emptied overnight and the smell wasn't good. I should receive a scan every 6 months for a tumor but these have been delayed.

Great maternity support

Maternity
January 13, 2025
I had a good maternity experience and support after the birth was also good. I was induced after scans suggested my baby wasn't growing but when I had him nearly three weeks early he was already 7lbs but all was good in the end.

Good communication

Cardiology
January 6, 2025
I have been very satisfed with the service received so far, it was found during a scan for something else that I needed an operation for a stent to be fitted, this was 5 months ago and I am due to have my operation this month. Communication has been good from the department and the timescale is fine by me, 5-6 months with this amount of people is pretty good I think.

Quicker than expected in A & E

Accident and emergency services
January 6, 2025
My wife cut her ankle badly when getting out of the car, it was going to be a 3 hour wait to see a GP and it was deep so I took her to A & E, she was initially triaged by a nurse and we were told that it could be up to 4 hours before we were seen, but in the end it took only 2 hours, they saw her and examined her and put some steristrips on the wound and then referred her back to her GP. It felt efficient.

Great support and help from midwife

Maternity
January 3, 2025
I gave birth to my baby early hours on 28th November. The midwife had been with me from the nighttime of 27th and she was AMAZING, really reassuring and down-to-earth and patient despite me saying that my back hurt no less than 1000 times! The world needs more midwives like her! The person with the meds and the man who helped deliver and stitch etc whose name I didn’t get (but should have done as he really earnt his money with me that night) were also great! Thank you.
