Referred to hospital for further tests and have quickly been invited to an appointment on a Saturday which I really didn't expect.

Poor communication, otherwise good hospital

August 30, 2018
Lack of communication between the hospital and the GP is an issue otherwise it's a good hospital. In 2015, I had breast cancer and had surgery but afterwards when I had a drain fitted the bottle started overflowing. I was given a new bottle but not shown how to change it so it was overflowing. The staff said they had informed the doctor but they then said that they hadn't had a message.

Absolutely shocking!

My wife attended A&E at approximately 0930 on the 28th of August 2018.
Having been triaged in a very timely manner, the wait then began.
It is now 1840hrs and she is still sat in the SAU, she hasn't been allowed a drink or any pain relief for over six hours now. Whenever we question what is happening, we are brushed off without any real explanation.
This is just not good enough!

Hard time with premature birth

Maternity
August 28, 2018
I had a hard time with the early birth of my baby. My child, thankfully is fine now, however I am not. I feel emotionally scarred as I had a massive infection that was initially undetected. The placenta was left inside me. I was eventually rushed for extra surgery, which was the last thinking I wanted when I thought I would never see my new born baby again. Better communication would have helped.

I had excellent treatment at my regular visits to this department. Great ongoing care from the staff. The dietitian even calls us from time to time to if we need any help. I really feel the have gone 'above and beyond'.

2.5 hours to be triaged in agony

Accident and emergency services
August 28, 2018
I was brought in by an ambulance who had assessed me, but I had to wait in A&E for a further triage for 2.5 hours. I was in agony as my knee had seized and I was sitting in a wheelchair but could not move. A member of staff though came along and asked me to move into another wheelchair. This was extremely difficult and painful. I felt that it was inhumane to ask me to move when I was clearly in so much pain.

IVF Assessment

I was referred by GP to investigate my fertility. They didn't take a blood test, I was just told that I was 'too fat' and need to loose 2 stone. They were so very rude. I wasn't given any information that I have received today about OneLife from the HWS team member in the surgery.
