I have been for Radio therapy and also been using the Oncology and Cancer departments. They all have been excellent. Staff treat you as a individual and are kind and caring, which is important since it is such a difficult time for all involved

I had to go daily for treatment and this service was consistently excellent. It is not nice to keep going every day, but the staff made the visits pleasant and more bareable

Prescribed Milk

Maternity
September 14, 2018
We were discharged with our baby who needed prescribed milk as there was allergies. The hospital gave us 4 days worth. No information was given to us what we needed to provide our surgery in order to further prescribed milk. Our surgery would not give any to us without the weight length of the child that day. We had no way of knowing this.
We ended up driving miles to buy the specific milk. Our surgery said that the hospital should have prescribed more than 4 days worth of milk for us.

Lack of communication with us

Maternity
September 14, 2018
The lack of communication between intensive care and the staff on the ward we were being left on made things stressful. Our child had sepsis when born and breathing was not great. We were able to have 'baby' with us in the incubator for a bit. On one occasion my partner had to go off site to get food and on his return we had midwives saying he needed to get to intensive care in such a way that it panicked him. It turned on on this occasion it was only them doing general 'obs' It completely panicked us. After a few days of being home, we were looking through our childs notes/records and we read that they had stopped breathing for a full 9 minutes! No one had told us this!

Cataract operation success

General Surgery
September 14, 2018
I had a very successful Cataract operation on a Monday and It worked so well, I was driving by the Wednesday. I cannot thank the hospital enough. It was a 6 month wait, which was 2 months more than I was initially told, but I understand there are pressures, and my operation is less important in the grand scheme of things

Quick referral

Ear Nose and Throat
September 13, 2018
I was referred by my GP at Haven Health in August and I was due to be in for a sinus operation in December. The date I had ended up being cancelled, but was quickly rescheduled for 2 weeks later, which I was impressed with . As I am retired the delay did not bother me. I was not worried or annoyed about the delay. This is the 3rd time I have had to have this operation. The previous 2 were in a different part of the country, and this particular experience was the best one of the 3 times I have had to have it done.

Look after my wife well

Dermatology
September 13, 2018
My wife attends for her cancer spots on her legs. We are in the hospital almost all day for the treatment, they look after us well during the time there. Only gliche was the hospital was unable to see any of the medical records. They said the two systems do not link together as different. We were surprised, and it would have helped with information sharing if they could have seen the records, as I had to sit and explain a lot on my wife's behalf, as she is quite unwell.

Thank you taking the time to leave your comments regarding your wife's care. We are aware that not all systems "talk" to each other and we are constantly looking at ways to reduce this. It is great to hear that you are both looked after well when your wife is in for her treatment. I will make sure that your comments are passed on. Many thanks

Presciption delay

Dermatology
September 13, 2018
After treatment, we were told a prescription would be sent to our local pharmacy to then be picked up. Now 10 days later It still hasn't arrived. I called the hospital yesterday and they checked, only to discover that the prescription request had not even been sent. I will check again tomorrow at the Pharmacy as they said they will resend it.
