I've recently had an operation and although the waiting time for the referral was long and difficult due to the pain, the care provided during my stay from staff in the hospital was very good. Staff explained everything well and I knew what to expect.

Care provided by staff in radiology and surgery was excellent. Really can't fault anything. For check ups it would be nice if there was less waiting, I realise they are busy but it would be good if they would only just let you know on arrival that they are running late.

I have contact with the hospital regularly but it has always gone smoothly. Referrals are quick and accurate and considering how stretched they are they do a wonderful job.

All the treatment I've received has been very good at the hospital, I really can't fault anything. The eye clinic has been wonderful, runs to time and the staff are so good.

All staff - cleaners to consultants are friendly and helpful. I'm so lucky to have had the care they have provided, I feel very fortunate. My specialist nurse is very good, all the advice and support has been amazing.

It's really important that you see the same staff each time you go, it makes such a difference to see the same smiley staff that you know. The care and treatment provided has been great and they do all they can to make it as nice an experience as possible. You also see the same patients and this creates a lovely atmosphere when you are having treatment.
Poor discharge

The discharge process at the hospital was not good with mum. They basically did nothing with her during her four day stay and then tried to discharge her with out fully discussing it with the family. There would've been no way we could've taken her home. A referral was made by the hospital and we were told carers would be coming in but we heard nothing for 10 days and had to cope alone. In the end we received a letter from the hospital giving us the Customer first telephone number. There was no record of the referral ever being made but Suffolk County Council did arrange for reablement to come out to mum for a few weeks.

The experience at the hospital was not great and the response times for A&E were not good either.

The care provided was very good and during the week I stayed and my baby was in special care. They kept us well informed at all time and my husband was allowed to stay which was great. Halfway through the week my baby was able to come up to my room for sometime with me which was so important.

I had an endoscopy on Saturday which went well. Staff were kind and explained things well and even took me to the canteen I'd been there so long. It was a long day, six hours and they were very busy but the care provided was excellent.
