Waiting is difficult
unknown
November 13, 2018
Waiting for the next appointments is the hardest thing, but I've had an MRI within a month which was quicker than I thought and generally they do explain what will be happening next and when.
Excellent care on Kirton ward
Accident and emergency services
November 1, 2018
My mother was taken to A&E from her care home with breathing difficulties and diagnosed with aspirated pneumonia. The care she received while she was being assessed was excellent. She was admitted to Kirton ward on 1st September 2018 where both she and our family were given exceptional care. My mother had made it clear after her previous distressful experience in hospital earlier this year that she never wanted to be admitted again however the treatment she received from the staff in Kirton ward gave her back confidence in the Ipswich hospital's ability to care for her. We are extremely grateful to them and my mother asked us to buy them some chocolates and a card to say thank you

Long wait for ambulance - Care is excellent - Getting the care is delay after delay.
4 years of Excellence for me
Rheumatology
October 31, 2018
Always have been excellent over the 4 years that I have been under this particular clinic.
One gliche in last few weeks is that I had a call to say I'd missed an appointment. I had not even had a letter though. I also had not had the automated phone call reminder that I usually get. They got very funny with me about it, but I believe their system much not have worked otherwise I would have had the phone call reminder as well.

Left to it after Cesarian
Maternity
October 29, 2018
As this is my 4th child I felt that I was just 'left to it' after my cesarean. Leading up to this as not my first child I was not even told or encouraged to attend anti-natal classes. I knew I was going to formula feed my child and I felt I was ignored because of this.
My birthing partner was told that he can stay, however they said 'we discourage it, as we are trying to get rid of the option soon.' My partner left as felt he had no option by the way it was put to us.

Breast feeding questions - inappropriate
Maternity
October 29, 2018
Child was born with Cleft Pallet. The constant 'Are you breastfeeding' was very distressing for me. I had planned all along to breast feed and was gutted that I could not. I expressed for three months. Addenbrookes were excellent for the follow up surgery.
Excellent care
Oncology
October 29, 2018
Excellent care throughout my stay, treatment and ongoing care. Through incurable, I still feel they do all they can for me.
Car parking horrendous
Dementia
October 29, 2018
Car parking here is horrendous. We have a disabled badge yet when we have an appointment it is so stressful trying to get a space. I cannot drop of my partner and continue to look for a space as they are reliant on my to be able to walk.
Amazing care

Could not praise Ipswich maternity enough. Amazing care and saved my life with their quick reactions.
No dignity or respect
Imaging
October 18, 2018
I went in for a check up as my breathing is very poor. I was to have an ultrasound procedure. I was instructed to strip down to the waist (I am a woman) and to put on a front opening gown. The garment didn't cover me adequately and I felt that I wasn't treated with dignity or respect. Then when I went through for the procedure the clinician didn't speak to me at all.
