Palmed off to Norfolk and Norwich
unknown
October 9, 2018
I am in need of an operation on a Hernia. Ipswich say they do not do the operation and referred me to Norfolk and Norwich, who stated that Ipswich do do the operation. I keep tooing and froing with no straight answer. I am getting more ill by the day as I am unable to eat anything more than soup. As the medication gives me unsustainable side affects are am also unable to take that. I am wasting away. They have now said it is too risky, but I would like to run that risk, as I have no life as I am.

I couldn't get an appointment at my surgery and had hurt my knee so I went to A&E. They then diverted me to see a GP who arranged an xray and I was out with in an hour and a half. It was a great service and expereince.
Cancer unit excellent

The Ipswich cancer unit has been excellent. Dermatology has been a bit hit and miss especially administratively. In comparisson the macmillian unit has been wonderful and care is always good.

I've been very happy with the care I've received following a transplant. I get good information and have regular appointments at the hospital where they check everything is ok.

Really can't fault the care and treatment I've had at the hospital. They've always been brilliant and the staff have been so wonderful and caring.
Don't read notes before seeing you

The hospital has always been very good. The staff are very caring when they are with you but I do sometimes feel that they don't read your notes before seeing you.
Attending for 18 months
Eye Clinic
September 27, 2018
Been attending the clinic for 18 months now every 8 weeks. It's been excellent to see same Doctor there for this whole period of time. Recently I have had lazer treatment and should hopefully no longer need the injections, Check up in a few weeks will inform me if it has been a 'longer term solution'. At my last appointment I told her about my neck pain which is on the same side as the eye with issues. She advised me to try see GP as it could be connected.
Affected by previous expereince
Maternity
September 27, 2018
During my 2nd pregnancy, as I had had quite a traumatic 1st pregnancy, they went over my notes and told me that the treatment received and poor experience we had was partly the blame of a inexperienced junior doctor. It did happen 18 months before, however, as I had just found out it affected me mentally during my 2nd pregnancy as I was always concerned about who was doing what and their experience. (I basically lost my confidence in the people caring for me and my unborn baby). I therefore insisted on an elected 'C Section'
A day after the 'C section' my partner saw I was bleeding and unbeknownst to us, I was Hemorrhaging. NO medical person had realised, but I had had blood in my urine already. The bed was stripped of the bloody sheets. Two hours later my partner went to ask if I could have new sheets and he was questioned quite abruptly. No one had come and remade the bed whilst I was being cleaned up. I was in over a week and it was good that my partner was able to stay the whole time. But my treatment on both of these occasions now means we will not have any more children, as I can not cope with it mentally.

My partner went in for a double hernia operation. They were looked after really well. all went smoothly. They also gave good information to us to help with how to control this situation and prevent further issues.
Went for an X-ray

Went to the clinic after the GP referred me for my knee to be X-rayed. All was excellent. Didn't have to wait more than 15 minutes which was great!
