Very pleased

It's a great surgery and I've been very pleased with all aspects since we moved here. The care has been good and the staff are both helpful and accommodating.

Great new GP

December 24, 2024
A great new doctor reviewed everything and then quickly referred me to hospital for an issue. In the past its been harder to get them to listen and take your views in to consideration and seem to lean toward not wanting to give a diagnosis. The diabetic nurse questioned why I was being monitored by the hospital, the nurses do seem very busy. At times I've also been asked to call back the next day when there has been nothing available on the day.

Okay

For children's appointments it's fine but for adults its much more difficult. Have had difficulties when raising women's health issues with doctors being dismissive or just saying that it's normal. I have recently found another GP at the surgery and they have been much more understanding but there are still long waits to be seen at the hospital and you have to go through so many steps all while dealing with debilitating pain.

Much harder to get an appointment

This surgery used to be excellent, but unfortunately now it is much harder to get an appointment when you want one. It seems GP's are working part time when they all used to be full time?

Wanted a blood pressure check

October 29, 2024
I was with a close friend of mine and said she felt dreadful, all of a sudden she slid to the floor feeling faint and weak, she went round to the GP surgery once she recovered somewhat and asked if she could have her blood pressure checked because of the episode but was told that there wasn't anyone available to do this and was suggested she go to the local pharmacy which is a car drive away, this really did not seem right, asking her to drive to get her blood pressure checked and why could she not get it done at the surgery.

too long to wait for appointment

October 29, 2024
I have found that I have to wait way too long to get a face to face appointment with the doctor at the surgery in Mendlesham, I have recently been for tests at the hospital and I would like to discuss them with a doctor. I have been asked to wait almost 3 weeks before I can do this which is terrible I think. I am left feeling anxious, however the reception lady was kind with me when I went in.

Had to register my daughter as a temp patient

August 8, 2024
She was very ill around Xmas 2023 and the staff at Mendlesham including reception staff and nurse who took the blood samples couldn’t have been more helpful and efficient

Absolutely no trouble

July 18, 2024
I phoned the surgery and had the appointment 3 days later but I needed to cancel and then had to wait another week to see a specific GP. I was very happy with the doctor, they listened and were really lovely. I prefer to call the surgery but when I needed to cancel the appointment it was really hard to get through in time on the morning of the appointment. The system just asked me to choose the surgery in a loop and then cut me off. The reception staff are also great and are friendly and approachable.

No issues

July 18, 2024
I've had no issues getting appointments by phone or when using econsult, I've had quick responses and have been offered a mix of face to face appointments and call backs. I get to see the same GP mostly which is good and the surgery works well for me.

Absolutely fine

No issues getting appointments including when I've needed to see the same GP two weeks in a row. There is a feeling that econsult is the way to get appointments and I have to ask someone else to do that for me which is difficult. The regular GPs and nurses are very good but I'm not so confident with the others. They have been very good at listening to our teenager.
