North East Essex and Suffolk Pathology Services (NEESPS)

North East Essex and Suffolk Pathology Services (NEESPS) is a partnership of Ipswich, Colchester and West Suffolk hospitals. Colchester Hospital University NHS Foundation Trust is the host of the service and employs all staff who work in the partnership. Our main hub laboratory is at Ipswich Hospital while Colchester Hospital and West Suffolk Hospital have locally run laboratories that continue to provide on-site pathology services for the needs of their own patients.

'Walk ins' work well

Normally I do walk in appointments which works well as you are generally seen within 10-15 minutes. Everything runs well and the staff create a nice relaxed atmosphere.

The system works well, it's easy to get appointments by phone and I've never had a problem. Staff are 10/10, they're exceptional and don't get enough credit

Seen quickly

Managed to book an appointment online for this morning, which worked really well. Tend to use the online system to book my appointments which is great. There have been some occasions when I couldn't get one quickly but generally it is quick. Today after seeing the GP I booked online using my phone and had a choice of appointment times. Staff are always good.

Its an approachable and reactive service, I tend to book appointments online which works well. I like the text reminders which are good and you can get an appointment when needed.

Generally a very good service at Sudbury which works very well for me. I call to make my appointments and this is good and I'm seen quickly when I do have an appointment.

Worked well

Used the service a few times at Sudbury and it has worked well. I've booked by phone and used it as a walk in patient too and both ways have been quick to get an appointment.

Better service than when it was at the Walnut Tree hospital. The computer is not overly clear when trying to book in and I go to reception for help. Very efficient and quick turnarounds.

Its been a good service, easy to book by phone beforehand and has always been very good. Staff on reception have been very helpful when the computer hasn't worked.

Able to get appointments at Riverside

It's been okay to get appointments as a walk in patient. May have a 10-15 minute wait but nothing too bad. The parking isn't an issue either.

A little more care and attention is needed. I have difficult veins and so hey do struggle to take blood from me.
