Lots of frustration

November 27, 2023
Personally I have lots of frustration with the system. Working and needing to ring in at 8am is impossible for me as driving at that time. My wife has to try book on my behalf. They say there is appointments online, but there have never been any available when I look. I come into the surgery and it is empty. It feels like they operate still under Covid rules. A patient comes out and you wait for quite a while to then go in, so surely they can see more.
Staff make telephone appointment calls between seeing patients.

Took ages to diagnose

October 12, 2023
They took ages to diagnose my child with asthma, stating that they were 'attention seeking.' Eventually, we were able to get peak flow tests done on a week schedule at home putting the results on a chart and they could clearly see that there were issues. Just could have done without the 'fight'.

A long wait on the phone

September 19, 2023
I call the surgery at 8am and I am already no 47 or somethying in the queue, when I get through the face to face appointments are gone, you are told to call again later and it is pot luck if you get through, it is very frustrating, waiting so long.

Ongoing support

May 25, 2023
There has been very good ongoing support for me here after I had my stroke. They 'keep and eye' on me and are responsive to any worries I have whilst I try to be rehabilitated. I get to see a GP due to this recovery period. It is running late today by about 20 minutes, but they are all very friendly, so I forgive it.

In the main pretty good

May 25, 2023
Pretty good service in the main but call queue can be extremely long. With multiple issues for us both we would like a consistent person for contact.

Mostly get ringbacks

May 25, 2023
It can be 'chaotic' trying to get an appointment. Today however, I have got my first appointment with a GP in a few years.
Mostly it has been 'ringbacks'. They say you can book online too, but they have always already gone.

Misdiagnosed over phone

May 25, 2023
During the time of Covid, I was spoken to over the telephone about new breathing issues and they had lasted a while. Asthma was diagnosed, without seeing me, listening to my chest/taking a peak flow test. I bought the inhalers and used them as per the request. Eventually, I was seen for a review face to face and they stated that I did not have asthma at all, so I had been mis-diagnosed and bought and taken medication I did not need.

Use of E-Consult

May 25, 2023
Generally, I use online, E-Consult and have found it good as I work shifts. The only problem can be if I am unable to answer the 'ringback'. If they could have an option for a timeslot that you can choose, that would help and likely help clinicians too, as they have to ring you more than once. I have had to put another form in before, as they did not get hold of me, and I did not hear for 2 days, so submitted form again.

Good care

May 25, 2023
Running late is quite common, and is the case today for the GP I am seeing. I was today given the choice about coming in for a face to face discussion or a telephone call, so I opted to come in, as I prefer that. I have had the choice to see a female GP for my personal issues, and it is good to have that choice as helps me open up when experiencing issues. They are all very caring here and that is the most important thing, whoever you see.

Cannot fault them

May 24, 2023
Really cannot fault them. I find them to be very good at looking after me and very caring. My appointment today was a check-up after being in hospital with an infection and sepsis. taking my bloods today to check on this as will be an ongoing check that the infection does not come back.
