Minor surgery - very early start. I was fed post surgery. Consultant was excellent.

Aftercare treatment after surgery was not good at all. The operation went well but I got infected, when I went backin the staff refused to dress the wound and just kept placing more pads on top and said it was not their job as I was on a different ward to where I should have been. When the consultant came in 4 days later he immediately transferred me. He spent time squeezing puss out of the wound and I was on a pump for 6 weeks to try and sort it out. Eventually I had to have major surgery to remove all the infection. I then couldn't be stitched and hard to let it heal naturally.
It was a truly horrendous experience and I never want to go back to that ward.
A complaint letter was written. The response was negative and even contradicted itself. A follow up was written but I never heard anymore from the hospital.

The physio there was great on my first visit He was very thorough, gave more information than any other professional has ever done

A gentleman who had dementia and went into hospital from his residential care home with pneumonia was treated poorly. His family were told that he was at end of life and were very distressed at the news. Without any handover or information given to the care home, the gentleman was brought to the door of the Care home by ambulance transport on a stretcher and in a very poor state. The gentleman could not be accepted by the home as the residential care home staff could not safely care for him in the condition he was in due to his new diagnosis. The Care home never received any communication from the hospital.

WEll done. In and out in one and half hours

Had a biopsy 6 weeks prior to this appointment at 6.30 in the evening. Was well looked after and had everything explained and given a phone number if I had any problems. Very impressed.

An all round positive experience; staff couldn't have been nicer.

Arrived at 6:45 am porter suggested I use a lift, check I n was very efficient , told I would be first in theatre at 8:30 am, I was. Care received from all staff was first class.

4 year old arrived in A&E via ambulance from GP surgery in acute respiratory distress due to asthma attack. A&E staff very responsive, efficient and kind. Supportive of parents as well as caring for a very frightened child.

Staff were really great, very caring. They ran a range of tests after which I went up to the ward where they monitored me and finally discharged me later that evening
