Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

My appointment was on time and the nurses and rest of the staff couldn't have been better. It was an evening appointment for a biopsy and I can't think how it could be improved.

Excellent 111 and hospital service

Emergency admissions

My son had pain starting in the middle then going to the right of his abdomen. After GP saying not an issue we called 111 = fantastic service = saw doctor within 30 minutes - surgeon within 4 hours - operated on asap.
Ward fabulous.
Home and healthy now having had his appendix out,

I was sen promptly - extremely quickly. All staff facilitated my op and subsequent results appointment. very impressive
As a parent who is also a nurse, I would have been very happy to access my own results online. this would have saved an outpatient appointment which could have gone to someone else. Happy to talk to someone about this suggestion,

We have recently introduced a new patient record system - a feature due to be rolled out in future is a 'patient portal' which will allow patients access to aspects of their own records held here at West Suffolk Hospital. Following a gestational diabeties diagnoses I was offered an appointment for the same or next day. The lady was kind and reassuring and seemed to understand my anxieties

West Suffolk Hospital are fantastic.They picked up that my daughter has type 1 diabetes and they have treated her (and us) very, very well.

Communication was hard

It was in relation to an operation my boyfriend had. Everything went well in his surgery and the staff were more than friendly. However communication was very hard, and no one on the phone was able to tell me for definite where/which ward he was in for visiting.
