ENT appointments cancelled twice

I have an issue with my ear which needs 2 monthly procedures but these have been cancelled twice now so it has been over 5 months since I was treated last. I'm totally reliant on a small amount of hearing but when I went to hospital to have my hearing aid adjusted there was too much wax so that needed to be sorted before I could have the procedure. It was then 5 months before I got another appointment and all the him my hearing is deteriorating.

My wife and I have used a few different departments and they have always been good. Staff are caring and they always explain everything well.

They monitor my diabetes very well and keep an eye on my ulcers. I go every 9 months for a check up and I get a written report explaining what is happening.

Following my husbands dementia diagnosis it was awful to be told we were basically on our own with no follow up. Without having a chance discussion we would never have pressed for a referral to a consultant for medication to help improve my husbands condition. The hospital does have the forget me not symbol which goes behind his bed when he stays but again I only knew I could ask for it by chance and talking to the right person. The staff have always been brilliant and caring.

My mother has dementia and lives in a home in Bury. She had a fall and was admitted to West Suffolk Hospital. Unlike the care home, the hospital did not ensure my mother was regularly mobilised and by the time she was signed off as ready for discharge following the fall her overall mobility had deteriorated so much that she couldn't be managed at the home and had to stay in! Self inflicted bed blocking.

I had a knee replacement carried out. The operation was done efficiently and and very successfully. Consultant was outstanding and the follow up was brilliant

25 minutes wait. All staff very competent. The 25 minutes wait was acceptable when I compare this with the waiting I encounter each 6 months when I attend my appointments at Moorfields Hospital in London - their times run into several hours depending on the day

Had to have a hearing aid. Sent to ent on the spot, went a great deal of trouble to fit - explain etc. Followed up by phone a few weeks later having been alerted of day and approx. time. Could not have been a better experience

My wife rang 999. The ambulance arrived within 20 minutes and took me to hospital. The treatment I received was top of range.

There is no ENT coverage at the hospital during the weekends which means I'm taken to West Suffolk Hospital by ambulance and then on to Addenbrooks after I've been assessed. If the ambulance was able to take me direct to Addenbrooks it would save time.
