It's OK now.....

Haematology
March 30, 2016
Todays appointment in haematology was ok BUT previously over the past 3 years I have been misdiagnosed and treated. Previous consultant didn't take my symptoms seriously and didn't listen to me at all. My mother was dismissed as 'over-protective'. New consultant is Fabulous and things are going very well.

Slight delay

Dermatology

Very good treatment and good advice but there was a 35 minute delay and we began to worry that they had missed us! Also, parking is very difficult and many of the spaces were taken up by contractors vehicles.

Disabled car parking always full

Pre-admission
March 30, 2016
Car parking is very unreliable so we have to come in so early to park and then we have to wait for the appointment for a long time. The disabled spaces are always full. When we were seen everyone seemed to ask us questions all at once!

Childrens ward was caring

Pediatrics/children services
March 30, 2016
A&E was very busy and we had a long wait for a bed. There was no communication about why the bed wasn't available for the duration of our 3 hour wait. When we finally got to the children's ward they were very accommodating and caring even at 4.00 in the morning! They gave us a cup of tea and made a bed up for mum to stay. 5*, treated with dignity and respect although a nurse did ask several times if a dr. had been.

Bed blocking

Cardiology
March 30, 2016
I was being treated in WSH for heart problems. While in, I met two friends in the Wards who were waiting to be taken to Papworth for operations. They could not go in for the ops. because they were in a queue for dental treatment first. The dentist only visits WSH one afternoon a week and so they were bed blocking-at what cost to the organisation?

Always look at my past

As a recovering addict I find that every diagnosis for an ailment is mainly based on my past addiction not my present ailment.
