Everything was good.

As you can see from my scores everything was good. I had plenty of time to sample everything as I was in hospital for 12 weeks.

I don't have any complaints at all. there aren't as many nurses at night but when there was an 'incident' a light went on and they reacted very quickly. It makes you feel at ease. I have seen some patients behave/react quite badly but staff have always been calm and professional. Staff work long hours-12 hour shifts but I have been very well looked after, I have had a hip replacement and the hospital have been very good at securing the use of commodes/loo seat adaptation and walking sticks to help when I get home.

Day times are five stars

Day times are five stars but there seem to be not enough staff at night, this results in slow response times. It isn't the nurses fault-there just aren't enough of them at night. This may not be a regular thing as I have only been in for one night so far.

It has been a good stay

It has been a good stay for me. This morning I called the matron over and congratulated her and her team. We have a Family Carer pack which reduces parking costs and also has a lot of information. The pay TV isn't great. When it doesn't work (as it hasn't for me when I put money in) there is no one on site to put it right. Calls to get it sorted are to a premium rate number so it costs money to try to get back the money that I had lost.

It has been a bit noisy in the Ward over night but I take my hearing aids out so it doesn't impact on me that much. My GP had to refer me to physio for a few appointments and then some classes, the physio then referred me to the hospital and that process was pretty good.

Admission was great

I am in for planned surgery. The admission process was great-the staff were very reassuring. My GP referred me to a consultant here who arranged for me to be admitted and have the op. It has been quite a lengthy process but I have had to cancel the date a couple of times and so have the hospital. I had expected to be in the day surgery unit but they are full and so I am in the main hospital.

I arrived at 11.30 today (for day surgery) and was admitted. I expected to go down to surgery before now but I am sure there is a reason. Otherwise everything I could have asked for-good!

Everything has been well up to my expectations, including the food!. The cleanliness of the place seems to vary dependent on which staff are doing it!

No one has told me what the delay is

I went to use the loo and it was very dirty. The pedal bin didn't work so I had to open it by hand which I felt was poor hygiene. (on admission) I was told I would be taken down for surgery between 1.00 and 1.30, it is no 3.10 and no one has told me what the delay is. So, I am running late and that is a worry as it might mean I can't go home today after all. I have someone who can take me home tonight but if I have to stay till tomorrow they won't be available to take me home.

Parts have been ok but there have been issues

I don't feel as if I have had my treatment or pain relief properly explained. I have asked questions of various people and I have received differing answers. I had a general anaesthetic and surgery yesterday and I am gradually coming out of it and I don't feel as if I have been really brought up to speed. Also, there is only one loo for this whole bay, which isn't a lot. There is no mirror, a very small hand basin and the facilities seem quite old and outdated. So parts of my stay have veen ok but there have been issues.
