No flexibility

There are no appointments available as pre bookable appointments for weeks and I just have to call back to get an on the day appointment.

Very good personally

Following major surgery on a broken shoulder/top of arm, I have found the e-consult services invaluable. I send in a request for my pain medication by 6.30am and by 10am latest I have either received a text or as today a telephone call from a Dr saying my meds will be available within the hour. The Dr was very reassuring as to my ongoing pain. I wasn’t rushed and he listened. Bypassing the receptionists makes it all less stressful. The Drs and medical staff have always been brilliant to my family and I. First class service when we need them. They all do an amazing job.

Unfortunately, reception can be very rude so I find by using the online service I can avoid that particular stress. Saying that the stress builds again when collecting the prescription. I really think the pharmacy need to rethink how they lay out their area. Prescription times are regularly 30 mins+. They all appear frazzled, can’t find prescriptions leading to many patients getting irate.

6 Week check was basic

I didn't feel that the 6 week check for both me and my baby was that great and I didn't have confidence that knew how to use the red book and what to complete it. It felt like a tick box exercise just asking if I smoked or was experiencing domestic abuse, but there was no physical examination. After speaking to another GP to raise my concerns, I have been able to re-book both checks for them to be done in the next few weeks. I left the initial appointment very disappointed.

Frustrating at times

It can be frustrating at time trying to get through to the surgery but the triage process and talking to a GP works ok. I do at times feel the reception staff can be a little abrupt.

Same day response

The phones are very busy so I mostly use econsult and that gets a same day response and a phone call with a GP, today I had an appointment following the conversation and they've arranged a follow up appointment in a couple of weeks too which is great.

Busy phones are frustrating

I visited the surgery today as I need to see a doctor and the reception team have arranged for me to see the duty doctor , which I'm now waiting for. The phones are very busy and frustrating and I end up having to wait for the call back which I don't find easy, this is why I came to the surgery this morning. The doctors and nurses are good and generally I get to see the same three GPs mostly which is good.

Responsive

As a family we are seen when needed and they are particularly responsive with the children. Staff have been proactive and have trained other staff at teh practice to ensure that more than one member of the team are able to deliver the treatment I have on a regular basis. I do sometimes feel that care navigators suggest things but they are not medical staff. Having the enhanced hours has been helpful and allowed more flexible attendance.

It's easing

It does feel like things are easing now and although I was 40th in the queue on the phone I was able to talk to a doctor and have then been invited in for an appointment. I do feel that most of the contact I've had has been by phone and that some elements aren't as good as having a face to face. I have been able toget follow up appointments when needed and staff including reception are good.

Drs and nurses are great

The doctors and nurses here are great but I would like better continuity especially around my long term issues. The diabetic care is good and I receive regular checks, there have just been a lot of changes over the years when I was first diagnosed the doctors dealt with everything. I do find it hard on the phone to hear what is being said even though I don't use hearing aids.

No issues getting appointments

Quickly dealt with and then spoke to a GP who listened to me and then invited me in for an appointment. Both the doctors and nurses provide very good care and treatment but reception has been a little mixed with how you're dealt with.
