Caring and friendly

Today we saw someone who has done her best and still is doing her best. She treated the patient with dignity and respect. She needed help to make the patient another appointment. The receptionist was also lovely very helpful and nothing was too much trouble.

The GP has been good at talking through things with me but on two occasions referrals haven't been done when they said they would be.
I was No. 11 in the queue when I rang at 8am.

I was told I couldn't have an appointment with the Dr as she was very busy. I explained the diabetic nurse had told me to see her quickly as I had no feeling in my feet and I also had a sore weeping rash on my stomach, chest and other places. The receptionist told me I could see the nurse for dressings but when I asked if they could give prescriptions for cream as the Dr has been doing, she suddenly told me to ring 111. I find this extremely unhelpful. I rang in time, I was 11th in the queue, and expected to be given a doctor's appointment. That's why we're signed up with doctors after all. I do not agree that a receptionist should prioritise who gets an appointment and who doesn't. Everyone who asks should be given one until all spaces are full, and patients should not be told they're not chosen for one, in so many words. The system is rotten! I now have to spend all weekend in discomfort instead of being treated and if I get through early on Monday who's to say I won't be rejected again for an appointment? No-one should have the power to choose who is lucky enough to get in to see the doctor, it should be strictly first come, first seen!
Shocking!

When losing meds was told need to come to surgery to to sign a letter that I understand the importance of not loosing tablets. I told surety to stuff it. Only work 3 weeks ahead as staff holidays no good when you work as self employed. Not a good surgery
Hung up on after waiting in queue

Sat in a phone queue for half an hour. Got to the front and after ringing for 5 mins was hung up on. Tried again and back to number 9 in the queue. What's the point in that?
National shortage of ADHD medication.
October 7, 2023
There is a national shortage of ADHD medication, the NHS put out a warning to all clinicians, I was never informed of this until I went to collect my medication from the pharmacy. I have struggled to get this medication. My wife has had to ring around, and contact my former mental health team for advice. This practice has offered me no support whatsoever and there is no contingency plan in place. I am no longer under the care of adult mental health services. I have to rely on this practice, they have no understanding of people with mental health illness, I feel let down by this practice and I have no confidence in them.
Impossible to say as I can't get an appointment
October 4, 2023
I was told that booking an appointment online was the best way to get one. I have for a few consecutive days tried to do this. I wait for 8am on the dot but all appointments taken. This means my condition may worsen and I will therefore need more help and possibly become a burden on the NHS which is already on its knees.
