Excellent care and staff

So truly amazing. Mum was going in for an operation and they delayed the start so her grandchildren could have time to wish her luck. The care and compassion from all the staff we came in contact with was great and over and above what you would expect.
Excellent care and staff

A wonderful service. Care and treatment over the years for Mum was great. When one staff member found out Mum had been admitted she even came to see her on the ward
Outstanding care. Parking could be better

Outstanding care and treatment provided. Really can't fault the care provided since April. The parking is an issue, but I ask for early appointments and that helps

Very good for my recent admission with a kidney stone.
Very poor. Little privacy and poor communication

When I visited Capel Ward it was closed for a variety of reasons, depending on which member of staff you enquired with. All assessments were being held in the small 12' x 12' waiting room with no privacy for patients. I was attending for a dressing change and sonar scan. This took from. 10.00 - 19.50 during which time I was fobbed off off numerous times as to when I would be seen. Never again
Life-savers......
Cancer services

Many experiences from cancer treatment and heart problems to audiology. Just go there if you have problems. Their only problem is administration; it does need some revising.
Poor. Staff would not listen to me and my baby became ill.
Maternity

Breast feeding. I was not supported well in trying to feed my child. I went home and knew he wasn't feeding well but I was ignored. 3 days later I went back to hospital and he was on a drip for dehydration. I felt so bad a mother but I kept asking for help and got none. I said he was dehydrated and had dry lips but the midwife who came to see him said he wasn't as his fontanelle was ok. However, as he had lost too much weight we did end up in hospital anyway. The point is he was dehydrated. Did not feel listened to. As a first time mother they make you think that they know better than you as you have no previous hands on experience.
Midwives need to respect what you are saying and at least consider it, not just brush it aside

Fair but problems with allowing my support to stay with me
September 14, 2017
I was under major stress with my child being unwell. The father and I had split up and so my mum was my support..I was extremely unwell with anaemia at the time and so needed my mum to stay with me on the ward. They did not allow it but they would have allowed the father to stay, so I don't see what difference that makes. After threatening to leave with my mother, they had to allow her to stay.
It was very stressful, but I needed the support so that I could be a good support for my chil

Referred by community service to the Hospital's Eye Clinic, they gave me an appointment quickly and explained what they planned to do to help.
