The care has been good

Neurology
January 12, 2017
The care has been good but explanations are difficult to understand as English is not our first language. Although I go with my Mum to explain what has been said I haven't been given any info as to how to get translations

Im not seeing the same Dr each time

Neurology
January 12, 2017
I'm not seeing the same doctor all the time which is difficult. We haven't been given a straightforward explanation of what is wrong and doctors will often use medical terminology which makes it difficult at times . I also feel that I can't ask questions to help clarify things. Nurses are friendly though

Thank you for leaving your feedback, it can be difficult to arrange for the same doctor to be seen on every visit. I am sorry if the doctors are speaking medical terminology, if you could give me a call on the number below I will pass on your comments to those concerned. Many thanks, Steve Bruce Patient Experience Team

Waiting times are quite long

Outpatients
January 12, 2017
Waiting times are quite long in the neurology outpatients. The new appointments system works well and is much more efficient. Maternity waiting times have been really good. When I've needed to use the hospital I've been really pleased.

After a fall in July and stay in hospital I was told I needed an MRI but couldn't due to my pacemaker, I did not have a follow up appointment until April, some 8 months later.

Was left in an uncomfortable position

unknown
January 9, 2017
I fell in July and was in hospital for sometime. I asked to sit up in bed but I was really uncomfortable. When I asked the nurse to help lay me down again they said they couldn't as the doctor was coming around. I was in a lot of pain and after the doctor did his round they left me. I ended up falling out of bed and injuring myself further. I was happy with the food and was even able to have seconds.

Parking can be difficult

The Chiropractor is on the ground floor at the hospital and my carer can park the car outside the entrance normally but sometimes it can be hard to find a parking space.

Staff treated me well and took care of me when I stayed in hospital. I enjoyed being able to visit my friend who was in Stradbroke ward as well.

Horrendous parking

January 5, 2017
Horrendous parking - Lack of spaces and a lot of extra stress. Could people be drawn in by being given off peak parking times?

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback, we are working to increase the number of spaces in the car park along with other measures aimed to reduce the issues associated with parking at Ipswich Hospital.
