When I went to hospital for an x-ray on my knee the staff were really friendly and joked with me. I asked them if they wanted slices of bacon!

Excellent treatment but long wait for ambulance

December 14, 2016
My wife aged 90 has coeliac disease and brittle bones. She had a fall forwards when a faulty seat belt gave way on 22 September 2015. As a result she suffered fractures of both femurs. As a resut of 1.75 hours ambulance delaywas quite shocked when admitted to Ipswich hospital.Dr. carried out a re- setting operation successfully. She was in anbritte bone ward then but was re-admitted to Stowupland ward and a successful amputation of the right leg was performed

I accompanied my son to the assessment. Arrived on time for the appointment and waited an hour to be seen. Was seen by a very junior female doctor who had frequently to refer to her superiors. Did not ask about my son's disabilities and did not want to know when mentioned. We spent an hour answering irrelevant questions about his OCD and and why he was not on medication for it !! WE had to wait while she made a copy of his long list of medication. He has a long list of disabilities including brain damage, epilepsy etc.
When I asked for a copy of the report from DWP among other depts. I was told no assessment has been asked for. Can you please help
Thank you

Last appointment I had the consultant gave me positive information regarding my medicines which I have to take and diet info as well as I still have stomach problems. Was very sympathetic also. I was very at ease. If I was worried about health I should keep checking and attend ongoing appointments'

Angiogram followed by emergency angioplasty - amazing care

Cardiology
November 27, 2016
A few weeks ago I suffered chest pain whilst exercising. I called nhs direct who sent an ambulance. The first responder was at my door in 2 minutes and the ambulance arrived in 4 minutes. They were amazing. They concluded I had not had a heart attack but needed to have further tests at the hospital. I refused an ambulance ride deducting that as I had not had a heart attack the ambulance may be needed elsewhere. The first responder and ambulance crew were exemplary. Thank you. At hospital I was treated with respect and was thoroughly tested and checked out. No problems were found but they referred me to the specialist cardiac nurse. My appointment came through quickly and I met with the nurse. She was thorough and careful to ensure the right course of treatment for me. She believed I had angina and put me on immediate treatment which was to be followed up with a scan and angiogram. Again my appointments came through promptly. The scan revealed no issues. In November I was admitted to the heart centre in Ipswich hospital. Everyone was respectful, caring and highly professional. Thank you. (Name removed) performed the angiogram (I was very weepy and everyone was just lovely, I got to choose mood lighting colour and music - this helped so much. (Name removed) discovered a worrying narrowing of my LAD. I was immediately admitted and booked for an angioplasty. I was well monitored, kept informed and treated with the utmost respect by everyone I came in contact with. My angioplasty was a success and my grateful thanks to (Name removed) for his expertise and skill. I was released home later that day. These kind, skilled and wonderful people saved my life. Most notably the nurse, her skill and instinct were spot on. I thank her humbly - how do you thank her and all the wonderful people for caring, saving and improving your life? I have no words - but I have a happy and grateful heart. In ending I would like to say that even though I have access to private medical insurance this has not been needed. Wow. So thank you all I will never forget any of you. Ps sorry I only gave the food a 3 but I'm still waiting for my chicken sandwich lol

Excellent care and hygiene

I found my treatment was brilliant. The hygiene was excellent, cleanliness of the ward also.
The nurses did all they could but obviously they are overworked and very short staffed.

PALS were great. Following a colonoscopy and after 8 weeks with no results we approached PALS to see if they could help. Within a short time we had the results which was brilliant. Great help
