Poor - staff very poor

Sproughton ward
November 1, 2016
The staff nurse's attitude towards family/friends of patient was unprofessional; male prejudice statement and actions. When we complained another member of staff (health assistant) tried to intimidate/distract us from complaining about the care/service/issuing of medication was very inadequate by telling us the nurse who acted so inappropriately and unprofessionally is a good nurse so implying that we should not complain.
What could be improved? Communications with patient, family/carers. Staff to have compulsory diversity training

Appointment was very rushed.

Maternity
October 24, 2016
Appointment was very rushed and I was unable to ask questions that I wanted to. Notes have not been up to date and this has a knock on effect and I've has to check whether I needed a scan. They do enough but possibly no more. The hospital midwives have been excellent with our previous baby and we couldn't have asked for more

Ear Nose and Throat

Very good service. The department was superb. When I moved to the area I needed new hearing aids and they made sure I stayed with the same make to ensure everything stayed the same. I had no problems. They were blue tooth enabled and the staff set up everything for me. Wonderful.

Blood tests were late and my C Section not arranged

October 20, 2016
As it was my third child the midwife seemed to just think I'd be fine with everything. In the end blood tests were late and my C-section was not arranged. The only way way to get information was actually to ask. Other midwives I saw were ok

My dad is 84 and he was discharged from the hospital late in the evening, after dark, having kept him waiting all day whilst they sorted out a decision and medicines, need to be better organised.

Helpful if Depts. could better work together

Gynaecology
October 19, 2016
Took a long time to receive a diagnosis, I didn't feel believed to begin with. Now I need care from both Gastroenterology and Gynaecology but they don't appear to communicate with each other. Would really help if the depts. could work together, to plan for my care taking into consideration what each are doing.
