Other areas in the region have clear care pathways set out so you know what you need at each stage of a child's life. I have only got what we have got because I chase up services. The 4 years so far have been so stressful.

The system is short of money I know. Something needs to be done for a better future. AS a SENCO I find the system in mental health extremely hard to navigate. Teaching in a class of 29 6 -8 year olds I have 9 (that I know of) with a need of help. Young carers some of them

Ophthalmology

I went in for an op recently but for the right reasons on the day they decided to change the treatment I was being given. The only problem is that the doctors & the hospital do not seem to communicate well as info about my meds had not been given to the consultant. the clinic is very busy and you do have to wait but the treatment has been great

good

Just before xmas I went in to have a back operation. I was very shocked and surprised when I was discharged 2 days later. I didn't feel ready to go home as I hadn't even been able to go to the toilet on my own.
The consultant wouldn't give me an MRI scan on my back for some reason, but if I went privately and paid I would be able to have the MRI scan. I had the back op completed at Ipswich Hospital but don't understand why I had to go private for the MRI scan Private fees: £200 consultation, £400 for scan, £200 for results

Overall, this was a good experience. The staff were fully aware of my deafness and communication needs. Information given was very clear. I just had to wait quite a while! (This was soon after the junior doctors strike)
