A good service but ENT and audiology don't communicate with each other around our son's treatment. We have to update each consultant.
poor - poor care and poor discharge
June 14, 2016
Been in for 5 days after breathing difficulties & and a case of pneumonia. He didn't seem to get much care. They drugged him up as they thought he had epilepsy. He had infection causing him to seem unconscious. Right side he has no sight, hearing so needs help eating/drinking. Community transport ambulance brought him home about 5 pm on freezing February day in just his gown. He already had pneumonia in his lower; meningitis in his upper lobe too. his winter clothes were in his bag. He was very cold.

In for 4 -5 days. Went in for dehydration & potentially kidney problems. Day he was being discharged, family called in but they had moved him and family couldn't find him. We went up and were told he had a heart attack the night before. No-one had contacted any member of the family. So communication is terrible.
Diagnosis has taken years
Genetics

My daughter has a genetic condition but it as taken years to actually get a diagnosis. This has partly been because different consultants have very different ideas and they frequently change, so we never go to a point where someone would make a decision
