Positive overall experience

May 10, 2016
Arrived to have X-ray (referred by GP). Parking was a bit of a problem. Once inside hospital noticed how clean and fresh it all looked. Greeted by older gentleman who asked if I needed help with where to go and he provided simple directions. Found X-ray department and expected long wait, but pleasantly surprised as from registering arrival was called through to next waiting area within 5-10 minutes. Waited another 15 minutes before being X-rayed. Once complete informed takes 5-7 days for results from GP. Staff friendly and cheerful. An overall positive experience

Many thanks for taking the time to leave your feedback via Healthwatch. We are aware of issues within the car park at peak times and are constantly looking at ways of addressing this. On the plus side it is great to hear when a patients expectations are exceeded and that it created a positive experience for you. I will be passing your comments on to the x-ray, volunteers and cleaning department for their attention. Once again many thanks for your comments.

Operation cancelled

unknown
May 10, 2016
I have waited a while for a Corneal graft at the hospital. I had arranged my transport as it was going to affect my vision and so not confident getting the bus. I had a call the day before saying it was cancelled due to the Junior doctors strikes. I was not given a new date at the time. I understand that these things 'just happen', but felt the attitude was not brilliant as there was no apology. I was upset as it is really important that I get my eyes sorted soon.

In August 2015, I fell and broke my wrist. The kindness and service I received at Ipswich Hospital was excellent. From staff in A&E, the consultant and team, surgery on Martlesham Ward, outpatient clinics and finally the physiotherapists. I am so grateful for the care and help I received.

The doctor I had in A&E was extremely good, had time to spend with us even though he was incredibly busy. He went above and beyond what we could have expected.

Waits are long in the eye clinic

Eye Clinic
April 29, 2016
Waits are long but most of it unavoidable though. I arrived early for my appointment and booked in at reception. I had been waiting for a long time when I noticed a nurse wandering back and forth. I asked if she was looking for me and she was, then she told me i hadn't booked in on arrival. I explained that I had but this had obviously not been done properly.
