Excellent service in A&E, very thorough.
Once in assessment ward (Brantham) was left (after being given something to eat) for long periods while waiting for doctor to assess. Was helpful to have assistance at meal times but at other times drinks were left out of reach and not prompted. Staff unaware of several aspects of condition and as patients speech difficult - some guesswork. Board behind bed not filled in - had to tell staff diabetic.

My daughter was taken to A&E by ambulance following a seizure at Ufford Park. On arrival she was immediately seen by triage staff. We had to wait about 2 hours to see a doctor but checks were made regularly and we were brought cups of tea & offered sandwiches. She was discharged after 3 hours with a referral to her GP
Ipswich Hospital Eye Clinic appalling at listening
Ophthalmology

At no point did I feel an equal partner in my recent engagement. The ophthalmic day surgery unit had no idea I am diabetic and I had absolutely no idea what I was in store for given the in the eye clinic simply couldn't be bothered to communicate. Since that intervention my eyesight is significantly worse, my concerns have been totally dismissed and I feel I'm an inconvenience.

My husband has Parkinson's and Dementia. He needed several teeth removed. On the pre-op visit everyone made sure he understood what was happening. On admission I could stay with him, I was consulted on timings for his medication and they understood we needed to get him home asap to avoid him becoming distressed.

We went to A&E, a friend gave us a lift there .My husband is in a wheelchair, he was very unwell. We were told that he was to be sent home to wait to see a GP, he started vomiting and they took a closer look and the view of his condition changed completely and he was admitted to Kesgrave Ward (pretty good!) but I still worry what would have happened if he hadn't been sick and we had gone back home.
Good experience of A&E

Good experience of A&E service. I was seen quickly and treated really well by staff, can't fault them.
