I saw the consultant in the eye clinic last September and was told that I would need to be seen again in 2 months. I called in December and was told that I'd be given one by the end of the month. It has taken until July to be seen. I was just told they were busy

My husband was taken in by ambulance, having fallen while out and badly cut his face and nose. As soon as he arrived he was seen by a doctor and the nurses started cleaning him up and began dressing his wounds. After an X ray of a painful shoulder which didn't show a thing out of place or broken he was discharged. A much improved experience than one I had when my father was taken in by ambulance 2 years ago!

Even one of the hospital's soon to qualify nurses, very kindly stopped as soon as my husband fell, offered her assistance and controlled the bleeding while I called for an ambulance.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your comments, I am pleased to hear that all the services you required worked well (and were much improved from your previous experience) and that your husband received the care and attention that he needed. It is great to hear when members of staff "go the extra mile" making a patient as comfortable and cared for as they can. I hope your husband is making a speedy recovery.

CT scan

July 5, 2016
I had a 5pm appointment for a CT scan at Ipswich Hospital. I was there at 3.30 to sit with and to collect my husband from the Woolverstone Centre. His treatment finished early so I pop along to the CT scan department and asked if they could see me earlier. They said yes and I was seen immediately. That meant so much because I could take my husband home instead of him waiting an extra hour post chemo.

Able to watch procedure on screen if one wished. Everything fully explained and information given before leaving followed up by a letter a few days later. Only 2.5 weeks from referral to operation. Very pleased.

My husband broke his leg and needed surgery + rod (at Xmas) fitted on discharge. We queried what weight bearing he could/should do and were told he would know how much he cand. By Jan/Feb the surgery got a physio involved as he was having trouble walking. It was only then when she went back to the hospital that they called to say he should not be weight bearing. He then needed another operation to fix the screws that had bent. There was never any information about what to do post discharge

Having a range of toys is good but toys for older children would be great. All staff are very friendly and they spend time with you and you are valued. Still a little bit that you have to know the right questions to ask. The follow up text service is great.
Speech and language therapy waiting times are long and less resources are allocated. Waited 8 months for last appt. which isn't good.

Thank you for leaving your kind words and the suggestion of something to keep older children occupied. We do have free Wi-Fi within the Hospital for Patients and visitors which may be of interest. If you could let me know what department you visited I will pass your comments on to them. I am sorry to hear that you had to wait for your appointment, if you could contact with some more information so we can investigate that would be appreciated
