Overall good/caring

Oncology
January 19, 2016
The aneasthetist explained everything very well and was really nice at making me relax.
Nurses were nice - food was fine - the ward was clean. When I left the ward I did feel quite dizzy and light-headed. The ward was very hot

The new system in place seems very quick and efficient compared to the old A & E at the hospital

Gastrointestinal and Liver services

I've been treated at Ipswich Hospital for many years and have been happy. The two consultants did not agree with what should be done so they have told me that I will not get any more treatment.

Visited A&E twice in the last 6 weeks, once for myself & once with a relative. Both time staff were very professional & efficient. Did not have to wait too long & was impressed by the quality of care.

Fair - poor and expensive parking

My daughter collects my batteries for me when required. She was not happy when having to drive around for 40 minutes and buy a ticket for a visit which only takes 5 minutes to go to the office and collect.

Emergency appt. requested by optician. I had a long wait . 3.30 pm appointment, seen at 5.40 pm. Doctor was called away to theatre. Staff nurse on duty was good at giving updates. doctor was very informative & respectful. Good outcome but frustrating wait.

Limited supervision of vulnerable patients

Needham Market
December 21, 2015
My mother was admitted to the ward with a broken knee cap (via A&E). She stayed for about a week to have surgery and recover. While she was there, there were other patients on the ward that kept coming over to her bed and they took items from her bedside cabinet. We think the patient had dementia but there was not enough staff presence to monitor things. The care received was good but not always on time with pain mediation which was delayed by up to an hour. When call bells were pressed staff did not always respond.

Hearing aid services

Great service. I've just been told by the clinic that we can pick up my mothers hearing aid batteries and have repairs done closer to home now which is great.
