I've only been here 15 minutes but have already been seen by triage. The assessment was carried out well and discussed the issue fully.

Parking difficulties

December 17, 2015
Parking for outpatient appointments is very difficult especially when taking a family member with learning disabilities. Driving around or parking along way away can increase anxiety and make attending appointments more difficult than it needs to be.

Food not good but care particularly good

Shotley
December 16, 2015
The food a couple of years ago was not good at the hospital. After my husbands stroke he didn't understand what he was being offered and I later found out he was saying yes to things he would never normally eat. He even left hospital having 2 sugars in his tea! The care on the ward though was particularly good and the physiotherapy excellent.

Ophthalmology

Started attending the new eye clinic and this is really good. I've already lost the sight in one eye but they are doing all they can to save the other one. They are very good.

I had a pregnancy ultrasound

Maternity
December 15, 2015
Unfortunatly the ultrasound technition couldn't find a featal heartbeat. The staff at the Peggy Cole unit where nothing but supportive they comforted me to the best of their abilities discussed my options and I left when I was ready. They gave me multiple contact numbers for services when I left the hospital. I called them multiple times while I naturally miscarried for some reassurance, my partner at the time also called them and they advised him on how to care for me through that difficult time. I thank them for everything they did for me, it was the worst time in my life and they made me feel that I wasn't alone and help calm my anxieties. I thank them for everything they have done.
