Complaint not treated seriously
unknown
August 1, 2018
I put in a complaint to the hospital but do not feel that it was treated seriously and initially it felt they just wanted the matter to disappear. It has had a bad affect on my wife and it has dragged on for quite some time.

They have been very accomodating and helpful, staff have been great and given lot of information. The wifi has worked well and has been easy to access.
Referral has been difficult
Orthopaedics

Orthopaedics referral has been very difficult but staff including the consultant and hand therapy team have been great.
Childrens department been great
Paediatrics/children services

The therapy dog that visits the childrens department has been great. It's nice to have something positive happening at difficult times very worthwhile. The paediatric nurses in A&E have been great, very good at communicating with my son who has a learning disability.
Orthopaedics quicker than expected

A little bit of a delay waiting for my appointment but everything has gone smoothly and the referral was quicker than I expected. You can see that they are stretched but this doesn't change the care provided.
Well supported

A great hospital where I've been very well supported by staff and the care has been great. The only issue is the parking which is very difficult.
Referral delayed

Not been efficient, I was referred by my GP for an urgent matter but after two days I'd heard nothing so contacted my GP again who then contacted the hospital. I was then given an appointment on a Saturday which was unexpected.
Could provide better treatment explanation

Sent to A&E by nurse at Debenham about midday. 7pm before I reached home. They were able to tell me I had had a stroke and told me to return to rapid assessment next day. I received a phone call at home postponing for 24 hours but no instruction given on medication - though I was asked next day what I had taken.
Poor discharge process - premature discharge

Resident had sepsis and was discharged back to her care home. After a week, she returned once again with sepsis as paramedics had to be called due to high temperature etc.
Poor communication
Haughley Ward
July 25, 2018
One of our residents sadly passed away after one week being in hospital. Haughley ward didn't inform us of the news but the family did, in the evening. The family informed us that they were told only when they rang the hospital for other reason. (poor communication).
