Takes ages to get through

Every time I need to access this service I find myself dreading the wait on the telephone. It just takes ages to get thorough and when you do you then have to wait for a call back. There are just so many hoops to jump through.
It is however very clean and the building is nice though sometimes difficult to access due to the carpark nearby.

It is mixed here. The staff are really helpful, but they have to make up for the fact that it is so hard to get see someone. You have to wait for a call back, so that takes up your morning sometimes, which can be quite inconvenient.

The surgery is generally good overall. My wish would be that I can have online access for my 2nd child in order to get the repeat medication. I have it for my older child (still a minor) they said that the system doesn't work properly so they have stopped registering children. But I have found it to be fine. It is just very difficult for me to get both my children out in the cold weather. We are all severely asthmatic so it is ongoing medication that never changes.

Feel they are very thorough at trying to get to the bottom of what is wrong at moment. Do not see same person but they all know what I am going through so it does not seem to matter.
Online booking system

They say to use the online booking system, but nothing is ever available on there. I used to order prescription but sometimes they've ended up at the wrong pharmacy. Difficult to see the GP we trust. Not a lot of faith in the one we are seeing today.
Overall impressive

I use the service rarely, but when I do it is impressive. I have had my blood tested here in the past and had a flu jab too, which was all organised well.

In for a blood test that I booked a week ago. I do barely ring for 'on the day' appointments, as you call at 8 am and always seems to be I am number 49! 30-40 minutes later you get through, and appointments are gone.

At first I wasn't sure about having to speak to a GP on the phone before having an actual appointment but I'm really impressed with the range of issues that have been dealt with over the phone without the need for me to come in. I've seen a few different GP's and nurses and I've been impressed with all of them. Living with s relatively uncommon and complex condition can mean that I have to build a good rapport with a GP before getting 'listened to' with regards to my own health. I consider myself an expert on this condition and its a relief to have that recognised and respected so quickly.
Not happy with NHS

I am not happy with the NHS. Not enough time is spent with the patient. They need to ask the public what is needed. Help people who are obese with their weight eg Gym membership and with illness.

It is generally good but the appointment system really needs sorting. I find it difficult to get through and make an appointment.
