45 minute to get to speak to the receptionist

Why does it take so long,called 8am answered at 8.45. Number 50 in the queue at 8am? This just isn't working.

If you can get to see a doctor they are, on the whole, very good. The problem is the appointment system and rude reception staff. You get a message to contact the surgery to speak to a doctor following tests but when you do you're told that you can't make an appointment and to try the following day. Staff on phone frequently talk over you or hang up mid conversation.

There has to be a better way of orgamising appointments than the phone system!
Repeat prescriptions have to be re-authorised, I get that. But it's an expected procedure and should be organised outside of the normal appointments system!

Great service once you get to be seen

When requested to contact the surgery to make an appointment and you phone in, you are then requested to phone first thing in the morning and join the queue for a doctor to call you back to see if you need an appointment. This is crazy! You have already been requested to make an appointment. To put this right, make the appointment with the patient when they first make contact - you have asked them to phone!!
Awful telephone service

Have been at this doctors surgery for 3 years. To begin with it was very good you rang up waited in the queue up to 50 then spoke to receptionist the doctor normally rang back within the hour. Doctors and receptionists all very nice. However in the past 3 months November 2018 - January 2019. It has become absolutely appalling. Today I rang at 8:04, I had to ring 21 times! (Honestly) on the 21st time I got 49th in the queue it then took another 27 minutes before I finally got to speak to a receptionist. It took me over an hour in total to ring and actually speak to receptionist. Also it’s having to listen every time to a 1 minute message from Doctor Lloyd to then be told ‘sorry all lines are currently engaged please try again later’ Now normally if you’re ringing the doctors it’s because your not well, and having to go through all this makes it 10 times worse especially someone who suffers with anxiety, I feel completely sick with churning stomach by the time I get through. Then you have to wait for a doctor to ring you which seems to be a lot longer nowadays. I’m not sure what’s gone wrong with this surgery, whether it is the fact Landseer Road GP has shut down and they have their patients now, or they are understaffed but something desperately needs to be done. Even if is just get rid of the 1 minute message from Doctor Lloyd so you just get an engaged tone would be better.

I call dead on 8am and was 68 in the queue, over half an hour waiting which in this day in age is not acceptable. Pre booking online is better when planned. Not good to use for on day as never any times available
Telephone queue soooo long

I wait in the queue to even try and speak to reception. It just takes ages. A good 25 minutes today to get through. I did then get a callback and am being seen. They need more people to answer the telephone first thing if this is the system they insist on using.
Able to see someone

Today we got in quite quickly as I have a very ill baby. I am now off to Hospital, and GP has written a letter. Although worried, I feel GP has been thorough and allowing me to get further treatment quickly due to the fast diagnosis.

I just find the process of getting an appointment so long winded. I am quite unwell and need to see someone every time that I still have to have a callback.
