Moved here from another surgery and they are amazing. Appointments and prescriptions are easy to arrange, there are never any hold ups with either and you get instant replies through Ask My GP. I really like the system it works well for us as a family, very impressed.

Great care

July 5, 2024
Moved here from another surgery recently and I've been very pleased with the care I've received since moving here. I've not had any issues getting appointments which is a great relief and the care has been great, so glad I moved.

Very happy

Fairly recently moved to the surgery and have been very happy with the care and access to appointments since moving here. Using Ask My GP to arrange to talk to a GP and then being offered an appointment works really well and the staff have been helpful.

Some issues

July 5, 2024
Recently tried to combine appointments so that we didn't have to travel to the surgery multiple times but we were told it wasn't possible even though we both just needed a blood test. The system in place means that the bigger picture is missed as you speak or possibly see whoever is available rather than the same person, also at times I've had differing advice. It does feel more impersonal now with ask my gp and waiting for a call back can be difficult with mobile reception not being great and when the doctor calls they don't leave a message to say they've called so you often don't even know you missed them. Medication has been difficult to get and when it is a specific one that you need rather than any brand it can mean having to call a lot of pharmacies to find what you need. The trainee GPs have been very good, they seem to look more widely at what is going on rather than make assumptions. At times the jump to depression has been to quick when it has been other issues causing the problems.

new surgery

June 26, 2024
I moved to the surgery when I was unhappy with where I was and I have been really pleased since I moved. The system in place does take a bit of time to get used to, with most things being dealt with on the day but it seems to work well and I've been able to get the help needed.

I don't like medication wasted

June 26, 2024
As a patient I do have a concern over speaking to a doctor over the phone only to get a diagnosis, I prefer face to face always. I was recently diagnosed over the phone only and I was given antibiotics and I have several of them left over, if I give them back to the surgery they will dispose of them but there is nothing wrong with them. I choose to keep them for myself and use them in the future if I get the same problem. I really do not like the idea of medication waste.
