Care is good

The care is very good but the system being used at times is a bit frustrating. I received a call from reception saying I needed to arrange an appointment but when I tried to do this with the person on the line they said I had to go online and do an Ask My GP submission, which seems crazy when they have just called you.

Lack of information

I received a text to say I needed to arrange an appointment to have a blood test but there was no information about why I needed one. I didn't think it was necessary but when I called the surgery no one could really explain why I needed it. Communication is some how more complex than it needs to be and you get passed from team to team looking for answers. Care and access to appointments however has been great and this is just a small observation.

Dispensary great

The dispensary staff are always great and sort any last minute issues out quickly and efficiently. Recently I ran out of medication after starting a new tablet but they sorted it all out and arranged for my dosette box to be updated too.

Quick to get appointment

I arranged a smear test a couple of weeks ahead at my preferred surgery and at a time I could make. Reception staff were helpful arranging the appointment around work and the nurse in the appointment was lovely, very friendly and made the appointment very relaxed. I really can't fault the surgery.

Care very good

Whenever I've contacted reception they've always been very good and so helpful. They help my father by writing down what needs to be done following appointments so that he does what is needed. At times it would be helpful to have a little more detail to prevent misunderstandings.

The only slight issue I've had was waiting for a GP to call me back. When I rang to find out why I hadn't had the call I was told they'd tried to call three times even though I hadn't left the house. Reception were very helpful though and arranged for another call.

Always been great, I've not had any problems and because I don't use Ask My GP the reception team take all the details down and arrange a call back.

A Good surgery

Ask My GP is a good system and get's quick responses from GPs but for some circumstances it doesn't quite work. It's knowing when it is most appropriate to phone, like for a nurse appointment, otherwise I've done a submission and then been asked to call anyway. The doctors have always been good and listen to what the issue is and then suggest a good course of action.

I am sorry to hear there has been some confusion when you've used Ask My GP, you should be able to request any appointment via the system. However, we have had a few new staff recently and I wonder if the confusion has come from this. I shall ensure that staff receive further training which I hope will help resolve this for you in the future.

Friendly staff and lovely reception, one of the nicest surgeries around. I'm confident in the care and advice provided and get quick responses when using Ask My GP. The dispensary staff are very good but it would be helpful if they could open more hours.

Call for appointments

I call for appointments and the reception staff are friendly and helpful and take down the details. I've then been given call backs from a GP who listens to what is said and then asks you to come in to see them if needed. Getting blood tests has been fine but sometimes there are quite excessive waits in the surgery. It's not always easy to use or access the internet so I need to call but it sometimes depends who is on reception as you can feel like you've been a naughty school child when speaking to them. It would be good to know if appointments are running behind, may be a message on the check in machine might be possible and a drinks machine would be great.
