Access is an issue

I've completed an Ask My GP but not had a response which was disappointing. Filling in the form is difficult as you need to know the right things to say to explain the problem. Reviews have been done well though and I have had phone calls back and spoken to someone which has worked well. Reception staff are very helpful and I've always been happy with the diabetic care I receive, which has been excellent and I was very impressed by the last GP I saw.

I'm not a great fan of the system in place as it's easier to just call to arrange appointments. I used Ask My GP yesterday morning but wasn't contacted until 3pm which meant I'd had a day off from work but still not had an appointment. So I then had to wait for a call the next day, still not feeling well. I've been well listened to by the doctor and have had a good experience but other family members have felt dismissed when it then turned out to be something more serious and have felt that doctors have different approaches.

It is more challenging to use Ask My GP and it feels more difficult and like it takes more time but I've been given appointments with a GP after speaking to them. I was happy with the conversation and was then invited in for the appointment all within an hour. Its a bit mixed at times with staff but most have been ok. When doing the Ask My GP I do worry about what needs to be put in to each of the boxes plus I find it difficult as I don't use the internet much and I find it difficult to remember where I've got to go for appointments.

Normally it is very good here but very disappointing that for the first time ever when being contacted by a doctor from the surgery about a family member they said they didn't have time to discuss an issue. I took the call when the family member was out and the doctor was obviously frustrated that they had tried earlier and there had been no answer. I briefly discussed the issue and was told they didn't have time to discuss the issue any further, so I suggested that the family member should try more pain medication that was already in the house and would get back in touch if that didn't work. Its a shame as this is the first time at this practice I've ever been made to feel an inconvenience. I completely understand that the staff are incredibly busy but it is not the patients fault if they don't know when to expect a call back.

Its reasonably good using Ask my GP but I don't think that it is quite as quick as I submitted my form one day and then got a call back later in the day but then had an appointment the following day, so a bit more drawn out.
At times I've not been seen as quickly as I would like but the care and treatment provided by staff has been very good.

Ask my GP is a bit of a pain to use but you do get prompt responses and appointments through the system. The practice is much bigger than it was but the care and treatment is as good as ever and I really like that you get a quick call back on the same day.

This surgery is full of kind, caring, excellent clinicians and staff. I’ve never had any problems with access, in fact I have found them really flexible. I can’t tell you how much knowledge and skill the doctors have. They are amazing with adults and children and mental health. I can’t speak highly enough of them.

The surgery is very good with quick appointments and call backs from doctors. The attention to detail has been great and they are very caring and understanding. The reception team are also kind and helpful and will do all they can to sort issues out.

The system in place has allowed me to get quick appointments when they've been needed or issues have been addressed following a phone call with the doctor, it all works very well and so quickly.

I've been really happy since moving to the area. All care has been great and easy to access and the use of Ask My GP is really good and gets great on the day responses. Can't fault the care provided by staff either, it truly is a great surgery.
