A bit of a wait

I book using the online system but the only issue is that on the whole appointments are about 3 weeks in advance so I've had to go back to my surgery if something is more urgently needed. The phlebotomists are wonderful it never hurts when they take the blood.

Online is much easier to use to arrange appointments however they aren't available as soon as I would like at times. I try to get the date of my next appointment at the hospital as early as I can so I can then book the blood test in time for it. I have tried and got cancellation appointments at times but every now and then I have had to go back to my specialist nurse to get their assistance to get one at the hospital but that is not so easy as getting there is difficult for me. Staff at both sites are fantastic and results are sent through quickly.

My doctor arranged an urgent appointment for me yesterday. I do normally phone to book my appointments although I can use the internet I'm not confident with it and prefer old fashioned talking to someone. I think the system in place works very well and the staff are excellent.

I don't have the internet so I call to arrange my appointments. Appointments are quick to get and the staff on the phone offer different options which is helpful and they also will work with dates of other hospital appointments. The staff are lovely and polite when speaking with them. My consultant, on discharge notes said to get a blood test but the number they provided was incorrect, luckily I use the service regularly so knew the correct number to call.

Initially when I started using the service I called to arrange appointments but I now have more confidence to use online systems so I now book online. Usually it is quite simple to do and it allows me to look at different possibilities to fit appointments around other commitments.

When there were no appointments available at Sudbury for two and a half weeks the member of staff I was speaking to politely asked if I was able to travel further to another site and they then found me a sooner appointment at the hospital, which worked well for me.

Phone to arrange appointments as I'm not online so I need the option to call. The appointments are available when I need them and the staff at the hospital are lovely. It works very well as a service and results are quick to receive.

It's easy to arrange appointments at Sudbury by phone. I have them every 3 months and the staff offer different options so that I can combine the appointments with doing other things which is really helpful.

Come to Newmarket as it is easier to get appointments as it is more pleasant and the staff are helpful and friendly and I don't get bruises.

It was better before when it was a walk in service. The latest appointments available at the Mildenhall hub is 2pm which is no good for trying to get the test done after work. I've just received a text to cancel even though I needed a very specific test and it needed to be early in the morning. I managed to get seen at the hub and really appreciated it.
